Amanda Sills

Amanda received her B.S. in biology with minors in ocean and estuarine science and applied conservation studies from George Mason University in 2012. She received her M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy also at George Mason University. Her thesis examines long-term trends in ichthyoplankton assemblage structures influenced by changes in point and non-point source pollution levels and submerged aquatic vegetation in Gunston Cove, VA. Her overall research interests include marine and freshwater ecology, fisheries science, management and conservation. She has been recognized for her work mentoring undergraduate students in the Fisheries Ecology Lab, as the first graduate student to win the OSCAR Mentoring Excellence Award in 2015.
