Sammie Alexander has a B.S. in Environmental Science with minors in Geographic Information Systems and Conservation Studies. Sammie began volunteering in the Fisheries Ecology Lab her freshman year sorting macroinvertebrate and ichthyoplankton samples, and aiding in river herring stream surveys.  In Fall 2018, she started the Accelerated Master’s program within the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, in which she hopes to assess watershed connectivity and usage by collecting and analyzing environmental DNA samples in regards to the presence of Alosa aestivalis (Blueback Herring), Alosa psuedoharengus (Alewife), Channa argus (Northern Snakehead), and Ictalurus furcatus (Blue Catfish).
